Material List for Oil Painting
Paints:

Yellow Ochre
Raw Sienna
Cadmium Yellow Medium
Alizarin Crimson
Permanent Red
Cadmium Red Light
Ultramarine Blue
Raw Umber
Burnt Umber
Ivory Black
Titanium White (large tube)

Brushes:
Sizes 4, 6, 8 of Flats/Brights
A 1” and 2” house painting brush

Instructor Note: Make sure you have at least 2 of each size of the artist’s brushes. You will always want to add new ones, but this will get you started.

Other:

A sealable palette box with a pad of disposable palette sheets or wooden palette
Metal palette knife (not the plastic ones)
A metal or glass jar made for cleaning brushes
Small bottle of Liquin (this is a medium used in the painting)
Odorless mineral spirits (you can substitute cooking oil if you are allergic to mineral spirits)
A pad of canvas paper for exercises
Several sizes of canvases or canvas panels (9”x12”, 11”x14”, or larger)
Paper towels or rags
